Error message in the app after pairing your SmartWise thermostat?
If you’ve paired a SmartWise thermostat (compatible with the eWeLink app) to your Wi-Fi network, and you’re seeing an error message on the thermostat interface in the app, it’s caused by an incorrect mode setting—but it’s easy to fix.
The thermostat shows an error because its default mode expects both internal and external sensors to be connected.
Since no external sensor is actually connected, the device displays an error in the eWeLink app.
You can clear the error message by either:
(1) Connecting an external sensor to the thermostat, OR
(2) Changing the settings to indicate that no external sensor is connected.
To change this setting:
First, turn off the thermostat using the touch button.
Then, press and hold both the “M” and the “clock” icons simultaneously to enter the Advanced Settings menu.
Press the “M” button repeatedly until you reach the “A” settings.
Use the up/down arrows to change the default “AL” setting (external + internal) to “IN” (internal sensor only).
The thermostat will automatically exit the menu after a few seconds of inactivity.
After switching the thermostat back on using the touch button,
the error message in the app will disappear.
